The Israeli Defense Forces regularly post blogs and updates
at http://www.idfblog.com/
Of the most recent operation, "Operation Protective
Edge", updates are found currently at: http://www.idfblog.com/blog/2014/07/18/live-updates-ground-operation-gaza/
Israel is a nation about the size of New Jersey, having to
deal with over 18,400 (and climbing as
of this post) rocket and mortar attacks over a 13 year period.
One of their recent posts, available for reprint when
attribution is given, is below...but please note, that as of August 2, 2014,
Hamas had fired a total of 3034 rockets and mortars on Israel since early July
2014 (which the first graphic does not account for), but notes is pre-July 7,
2014 in its figures :
Rocket Attacks on Israel From Gaza
Israel’s citizens are regularly threatened by
rocket fire from the Gaza Strip. Hamas and other terrorist organizations
launch mortars, rockets and missiles towards Israelis cities. Here is
everything you need to know about the constant threat Hamas poses to
Israel’s civilians.
Since Israel withdrew from the Gaza
Strip in 2005, terrorists have fired more than 11,000 rockets into
Israel. Over 5 million Israelis are currently living under threat of
rocket attacks.
More than half a million Israelis have
less than 60 seconds to find shelter after a rocket is launched from
Gaza into Israel. Most rockets launched from Gaza into Israel are
capable of reaching Israel’s biggest cities, including Tel Aviv and
Jerusalem.
Rocket fire from Gaza is a constant threat facing Israel’s
civilians. In 2011 alone, 630 rockets from Gaza hit Israeli towns.
That’s an even higher number than in 2010, when 231 rockets hit Israel.
Since 2001, more than 15,200 rockets and mortars, an average of over 3 rocket attacks every single day, have targeted Israel.
Hamas, the
ruling entity of the Gaza Strip, is responsible for most of the rocket
fire on Israeli population centers. The organization – which is
recognized by the US, UK, EU and Israel as a terrorist group – has been
increasing the size and capabilities of its rocket arsenal. In addition,
Hamas has turned a blind eye as other terrorist organizations have
launched rocket attacks.
Twice since 2005, the IDF has been forced to launch major operations
in response to heavy rocket fire on Israel’s civilians. The most recent,
Operation Protective Edge, began after continual and relentless rocket attacks on Israeli cities since the beginning of 2014.Operation Protective Edge – 2014
On July 7, 2014, the IDF launched Operation Protective Edge in order to restore quiet to the region and stop Hamas terrorism. The single goal of the operation is to stop Hamas’ incessant rocket attacks against Israel’s civilians.
The operation is ongoing, and since the start of the operation over 1000 rockets have been launched at Israel. Of those, 754 have hit Israel and approximately 201 were intercepted by the Iron Dome Missile defense system.
Hamas has fired long range rockets at cities across Israel, including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Rockets such as the M-302 – the same missiles confiscated from the KLOS-C weapons seizure – have long range capabilities and endanger the majority if Israel’s population. Rocket sirens have sounded non-stop across Israel, sending civilians running for shelter.
In response to these rocket attacks, the IDF has targeted over 1,474 terror targets using precision attacks to pinpoint terrorists and terror infrastructure while limiting civilian casualties.
Operation Pillar of Defense – 2012
On November 14, 2012, in response to incessant rocket attacks in the Gaza Strip, the IDF launched Operation Pillar of Defense, a widespread campaign against terror targets in Gaza.
During the eight days of the operation — and in the weeks leading up
to it — life was unbearable for more than 3.5 million Israelis. From
November 14 to November 21, Palestinian terrorist groups fired more than
1,506 rockets at Israel. The majority of those rockets struck Israel,
damaging homes, schools and other civilian areas.During the operation, Hamas and other Palestinian terrorist groups fired long-range rockets, such as the Fajr-5, toward Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Though the IDF severely damaged the terrorist organizations’ long-range rocket arsenal, more than 3.5 million Israelis are still under the threat of Hamas’ rocket fire.
Operation Cast Lead – 2008
In December 2008, after exhausting non-military moves and diplomatic overtures to hinder Hamas’ rocket attacks, Israel launched Operation Cast Lead. The military operation was successful in destroying Hamas’ rocket launchers and terror infrastructure.
Almost immediately after the operation, Hamas focused on rearming itself and increasing its military capabilities. The terroirst organization extended the range and quality of weapons that threaten Israel’s civilian population. Thousands of rockets were smuggled into Gaza, and many of the terror cells which Israel neutralized in 2008 have been revived.

My comments:
As a born-again Christian, I choose to bless Israel, which
is chosen by GOD as the a set apart people who are to be blessed by the Nations
/ Peoples of the Earth,
Genesis 12: 3 “And I will bless them that bless thee, and
curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be
blessed.”
and which one day
will nationally also recognize and believe into their King of Heaven and Earth,
Yeshua HaMessiach / Jesus Christ. That
Day will come about when they choose to believe GOD over the opinions of men,
that is, into the Holy Scriptures over the Talmud, which too often are reduced
to not just external traditions, but too
often the foolish utterances and quarreling opinions of men. If they can accept that the entire Old
Testament or Tanakh is holy, and believe into it as truly GOD's Word, then many
of them will indeed have the quick ability to realize who their TRUE Messiah
really is, much as Christian David Ginsburg, the top 19th -20th century scholar
of the Massorah, did.
In Ezekiel
33:10-11, the context is that the inward soul/spirit man is rotting away. This is caused, says 33:10, by either
rebellion/revolt {pasha}...or by the failure to live up to the standards of the
Torah, a falling short of obedience to Torah.
In verse 11, we read:
"I live: says the Master (who is)
YHVeH...Turn (and come back), Turn (and come back) from your wide courses of evil;
for why will you die, O House of Israel?"
This call to
"turn (and come back)" is like part of the story of the Prodigal son,
taught by Jesus / Yeshua in Luke 15:11-32. After the
elder son receives his inheritance and leaves the farm to squander it, the
father stands on the road calling out to him while the son is still in earshot:
"Turn (and come back), turn (and
come back)."
In Ezekiel 33:16, we see how that a thief who once stole,
can give restitution and be welcomed back as a permanent member of the fold or
flock.
In Psalm 79:9 we have the call for the glory of that Name
which is to gather up the people into the palm of His hand, even as JERUSALEM /
Yah Ruah shalom -- which properly
translated means YH’s {short for
YHVeH’s} proclamation shout of peace, which is the original intent of the
Hebrew word “Jerusalem” -- is engraved
on the Palms of His hands (cf. Isa. 49:16) as an atonement for Israel and the
nations. The engravings/piercings are to point us to the true Messiah /
Messhiach, the Master who is YHVeH , is the One
whose hands/wrists were pierced upon the Cross in 30 A.D.
In Daniel 9:9 - "To
the Master our GOD, mercies and pardons, for we have rebelled against
Him." And who is this
"Master"? The same One we see
Psalm 110:1 "YHVeH said unto my
Master, Sit thou at My Right Hand, until I make of the nations a footstool for
your feet."
In the context of Psalm 79:9, YHVeH says to YHVeH the Master
(i.e., Messhiach Yeshua) who bears His Name as One sent, to sit at His Right
Hand. Once the context of the way the
Old Testament is known from the point of view in which GOD is speaking from
Heaven through the prophets, the entire Old Testament opens up as revealing of
Jesus as the One and Only Intermediary and Savior of Mankind from the
Beginning.
One day all Israel will believe and know these Scriptures as facts of their Restored Jewish Faith.
I have also posted in the past, firstly an incarnation verse
with some Torah verses regarding Yeshua / Jesus, http://brianroysinput.blogspot.com/2009/11/psalm-114s-incarnation-prophecy-et-al.html
followed at a later time with 30 verses in the Old Testament
where the name of Yeshua is revealed as the Messiah, the Heavenly King of
Israel, that means of all Jews as well.
In 2009, I posted on this blog the intended Jewish
definition of what it is to be born again, when Jesus and Nicodemus were having
their discussion at night in the Gospel of John, Chapter 3. http://brianroysinput.blogspot.com/2009/11/new-birth-shedding-sin-like-shedding.html
It is up to all true born again Christians to oppose the
atheistic and worldly fakers among us, those taking the name of Christ but
possessing bad fruits and anti-GOD positions which include calling for the
boycott and even annihilation of Israel and the Jewish people. There are far too many atheistic wolves who
pretend they are Christians, who even hold all levels of Christian ministry
poisons from pastor to General Council Board Members who are sons and daughters
of the Devil with their pretentious masks who go around supporting terrorist
murderers of the kind of which Barabbas was, over that of the fully innocent
and blameless Christ Jesus and those he called His brethren.
Let those of you who support terrorists over Israel, be you
Protestant or Catholic or other, and who
dare presumptuously call yourselves Christians re-read the warnings of Christ
in the Scriptures where He says in Matthew 25:40, "As you have done it to
one of the least of these, my brethren
[of the House of Israel, or even of the tribe of Judah, hence the Jews],
you have done it (also) unto Me."
Matthew 25: 31-46, King James Version
31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the
holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he
shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the
goats:
33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the
goats on the left.
34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand,
Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the
foundation of the world:
35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty,
and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me:
I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when
saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked,
and clothed thee?
39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto
thee?
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say
unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my
brethren, ye have done it unto me.
41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart
from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his
angels:
42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was
thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye
clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw
we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison,
and did not minister unto thee?
45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you,
Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but
the righteous into life eternal.
Israel and especially
Jerusalem and its Temple Mount is Jewish by Divine Right. I choose to stand with Israel, because it is
the will of GOD in Scripture for those who will believe into GOD, who is the
GOD of Israel, that it is something we by free will and inclination should
already do, and if there are those not so disposed, then it is a duty and
command of Scripture upon them so to do.
GOD bless and protect Israel from its enemies, and speedily
restore the Holy Temple to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Amen.
That's MY input.
