Genesis 7 (King James Version)
21And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth,
and every man:
22All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.
In Genesis 7:22 there is the death of all who on land that "nishmat-ruach hayyim" / "breathed the breath of lives" , referring especially to the last word of the preceding verse of Genesis 7:21, at least it is so in the Hebrew ... and that word is "hadam" / "mankind". The particular use of hayyim, "lives", is meant to serve as a distinction as relating particularly to humanity, and I believe that the underlined is meant to be read together, even though it has been distinguished by the Massoretes and tradition springing from them as if these two verses it were to be somehow separated. The Hebrew and the fluidity of the reading suggests that this just isn't supposed to be the case.
Nishmat (the first emboldened word of Genesis 7:22 above, as we read right to left) as tinshemet is "animal", which seems
to come from nasham, "to pant", which is used only once in Isaiah
42:14. But a closer look at the Theology
of the Bible tells us that G-D has taken to Himself the inhale masculine and
exhale feminine sounds of our breathing, YH and VeH and combined them.
Hence, when we look at the origin of Nashamah, a literal
breath (of air) or breathing (in and out), we are to read it as a Trinity of a
one and two letter root word combining as a three letter whole. The letter Nun pronounced as if followed by
an invisible Alef (or as "NA" - "to pray,
ask, entreat, exhort") and Shem - '(the) Name" or
Sham - "there".
"The Name" is a Hebraic expression that refers to the tetragrammaton NAME of YHVH, sometimes pronounced as Yahweh, YHVeH, or Jehovah. In effect, we now see a Gematriac related alternate translation of the Nashamah to the effect as either "to ask or pray to Yahweh" or "to ask or pray there."
But there is also a third possibility. If Shem is not implied, then Shamah is the singular of heaven ( pl. - 'hashamayim ' or "the heavens"). The translation after the alternate Gematriac translation using multiple word root combinations, without getting to the numerically synonyms, would then translate to the effect of "to ask or pray Heaven"...or by inference, "to as or pray to GOD."

When the pre-incarnate Yeshua / Jesus breathed into man the
breath of the second life
He (Jesus / YHVeH Messiah / GOD the Son) breathed into our forefather Adam the "breath of Heaven" as it were, as if the smallest sliver of the spirit and soul of G-D; and this is what is meant when we read that Adam received the breath of "hayyim", the breath of "lives". It appears to me that Adam (in Genesis 2:7) is actually being told us that he (at his creation by the Creator) gained that access to the second life and eternity in Heaven with GOD the Creator by the very interaction exhale breath (VeH) of GOD (YH).
(cf. Lamentations 4:20
20The breath of our
nostrils, the Anointed of the LORD / Messhiach YHVeH/ Messiah (the) LORD / Christ Jehovah, was taken in their pits, of whom we
said, Under his shadow we shall live among the heathen.

Genesis 2:7
7And the LORD God formed man
of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of
life; and man became a living soul.

In breathing into man the second life, G-D gave us a new
ability to discern with the heart and mind between right and wrong, and on how
we are to think about and know G-D. In a
way, G-D planted a spiritual seed of Himself within man, who was first given a
physical body or "basar" with 5 external senses in which to house
G-D's spiritual seed planted in Adam, and then G-D watched it grow.
At the moment of conception, when G-D breathed into Adam
the breath of lives, Adam became a "son of G-D", a little higher than
the angels in his formation and creation.
When Adam fell, he chose to exercise a misuse of the ability to discern
between right and wrong and how to think on G-D (cf. Hebrew- Ruach / Greek
- pneuma). He followed a mood, a state of mind involving
appetite and inclination (cf. Hebrew -Nephesh / Greek- psyche). The living soul, the living mood and
appetite and inclination unto G-D was slain, and with it the living spirit died
within man also (and along with it, his ability to discern between right and
wrong and how to think on G-D.
To right the wrong, for whatever reason, G-D thought it
prudent to inhabit a house of flesh fit to be inhabited, born of the seed of
David, of the virgin daughter of the seed of David, using a well-spring source
of water from Heaven springing up in the virgin's womb
to form a man child in the womb. Man died from believing the words of a murderer. So man would come to live by believing the One who gave life to man at the Beginning...by believing into Yeshua, His words, His atonement, His Death - Burial - Resurrection - Ascension to Heaven. Believing is a life-long endeavor, it is a process of learning and growing...of bearing fruit year after year, so that we, like the tree of life, might be removed from Earth
(Genesis 3:22-24

As believers, we are to identify with the Tree of Life, planted by the river of life pouring forth out from and flowing forth in the presence of GOD the Father and the Lamb, Jesus Christ; and recall the first three verses of the First Psalm:
1Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
(John 4:14 - But whosoever drinketh
of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water
that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into
everlasting life.)

22And the LORD God said,
Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now,
lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat,
and live for ever:
23Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
24So
he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden
Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way
of the tree of life. )to the presence of G-D in Heaven
(Revelation 22:1- 2
1And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2In
the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was
there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded
her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing
of the nations. ).As believers, we are to identify with the Tree of Life, planted by the river of life pouring forth out from and flowing forth in the presence of GOD the Father and the Lamb, Jesus Christ; and recall the first three verses of the First Psalm:

2But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3And
he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth
forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and
whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
May you believe into the LORD Jesus Christ and be eternally spiritually saved, redeemed in ways wonderful beyond the mere comprehension of this physical life only, as we know it now.
