(there were) approaching and coming up alongside with Him,
Sadducees, who laying down definite words are saying
that there may not – perhaps not is to be a Resurrection.
And they intently asked upon and inquired (as if equals to) Him,

24 Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. (KJV)
24) Laying down definite words, saying,
‘Teacher. Moses said if perhaps someone die off,
perhaps not having – holding – possessing (and continuing
to possess) children,
[cf. Deuteronomy 25:5-7]
shall marry upon – shall intermarry
the wife of the brother of him,
and shall cause to rise up and stand
sperm – seed.
[offspring – a child / or, in this case regarding a necessity of
one single successful birth - children (if twins, triplets, etc.)]

25 Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother: (KJV)
25) Then were near us, seven brothers.
And the first having married,
ended – came to an end or completion:
and perhaps not having – holding – possessing sperm,
dismissed – banished – let go and sent away
the wife of him
[that is, his dead brother’s widow]
to the [second eldest] brother of him
[going in succession from eldest to the youngest].

‘You wander and go astray –
You err, being deceived and misled,
perhaps not
being acquainted with – perceiving – knowing
the Scriptures,
nor the dynamic power – ability – capability of GOD.

30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. (KJV)
30) Because in the Resurrection,
they certainly neither marry
[they certainly do NOT have conjugal relations]
nor – certainly not even
are (they) given out in marriage;
but (are) so as angels of GOD,
they are in Heaven.

31 But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying, (KJV)
31) Then round about – concerning
the Resurrection of the Dead,
have you certainly not read and come to know by reading
that spoken to you under GOD,
laying down definite words saying,

32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. (KJV)
32) “I AM.
The GOD of Abraham, and the GOD of Isaac,
and the GOD of Jacob!”
GOD is certainly not GOD of the dead,
but of (the) eternally living.'

33 And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine. (KJV)
33) And having listened intently and heard,
the crowds were struck with astonishment – astounded
upon the teaching – the instruction of Him.
