Matthew 22:23-33 In The KJV and AWPR Versions

Matthew 22:23-33

King James Version (KJV) in aqua Blue
Alternate Word Pictures with Reiterations Version (AWPR) in Yellow
My Comments are in Green

23 The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him, (KJV)

23)   In that (very) same day,
(there were) approaching and coming up alongside with Him,
Sadducees, who laying down definite words are saying
that there may not – perhaps not   is to be a Resurrection.
And they intently asked upon and inquired (as if equals to) Him,
          (AWPR)

24 Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.  (KJV)

24)   Laying down definite words, saying,
‘Teacher.  Moses said if perhaps someone die off,
perhaps not having – holding – possessing  (and continuing
                to possess)  children,

                 [cf. Deuteronomy 25:5-7]

shall marry upon – shall intermarry
the wife of the brother of him,
and shall cause to rise up and stand
               sperm – seed.
[offspring – a child / or, in this case regarding a necessity of
one single successful birth - children (if twins, triplets, etc.)]
               (AWPR)

25 Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:   (KJV)

25)   Then were near us, seven brothers.
        And the first having married,
ended – came to an end or completion:

and perhaps not having – holding – possessing sperm,
dismissed – banished – let go and sent away
       the wife of him

[that is,  his dead brother’s widow]

to the [second eldest]  brother of him
[going in succession from eldest to the youngest].
       (AWPR)

26 Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.   (KJV)

  26)   Likewise    and-also     the second,
and the third, until up to – until as long as
           the seven.
          (AWPR)

27 And last of all the woman died also.  (KJV)

27)  Then,  last of all,  the woman died off also.
        (AWPR)

28 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.   (KJV)

28)   Accordingly (then),  in the Resurrection,
of which of the seven shall she be wife (of)?
because all had – held – possessed her.’
         (AWPR)

29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.     (KJV)

29)   Then answering,   Jesus / Yeshua said to them,
‘You wander and go astray –
You err, being deceived and misled,
              perhaps not
being acquainted with – perceiving – knowing
              the Scriptures,
nor the dynamic power – ability – capability   of GOD.
             (AWPR)

30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.   (KJV)

30)   Because in the Resurrection,
         they certainly neither marry
[they certainly do NOT have conjugal relations]
         nor – certainly not even
         are (they) given out in marriage;
but (are) so as angels of GOD,
         they are in Heaven.
         (AWPR)

31 But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,     (KJV)

31)   Then     round about – concerning
         the Resurrection of the Dead,
have you certainly not read and come to know by reading
that spoken to you under GOD,
         laying down definite words saying,
               (AWPR)

32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.     (KJV)

    32)    “I AM.
The GOD of Abraham, and the GOD of Isaac,
                and the GOD of Jacob!”

GOD is certainly not GOD of the dead,
               but of (the) eternally living.'
               (AWPR)

33 And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine.  (KJV)

33)   And having listened intently and heard,
the crowds were struck with astonishment – astounded
upon       the teaching – the instruction of Him.
         (AWPR)
