30 I and my Father are one. (KJV)
30) I and Father, we are One - I and Father, we are Ehad.'
[The reference of Jesus / Yeshua to the title of Messiah (which is to one called YHVeH in the Hebrew of Lamentations 4:20) is in the affirmative that He is both Messiah and YHVeH. The reference of "we are" / "esmen" One , in the Greek passage of the New Testament here, is to explain the plurality of persons within the singularity of GOD in the Sh'ma, where GOD calls Himself "One", which is a direct reference to the Hebrew "ehad" of Deuteronomy 6:4 -
'
Sh'ma Yisrael, YHVeH elohaynoo, YHVeH ehad' -
'Hear and listen intently Israel:
YHVeH your GOD, YHVeH is One.'
To which the companion verse in Jewish theology is:
“And it is (to be) said, IN THAT DAY,
YHVeH will be King over all the Earth
(and all that therein is);
YHVeH shall be ONE (united),
and His NAME: ‘ONE’ !”
(Zechariah 14:9 - AWPR)
Jesus, who comes in the NAME of the Father, YHVeH, unmistakenly identifies Himself as YHVeH, the GOD of Israel: the GOD of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, who also spoke to Moses out of the Burning Bush and from atop Mount Sinai to all Israel at their Exodus from Egypt, et cetera. To the rabbinic ear, there was no doubt as to what Jesus / Yeshua either meant or implied...He identified Himself both as Messiah and GOD in clear and concise language with great brevity. The confusion to the modern anti-Yeshua rabbi comes when they try to humanize the identity of King Messiah, which the Scriptures identify must be YHVeH Himself, in order to steal away His kingdom, exclude Him, and spiritually (but also literally after a sense) claim the Earth for their own, because their Judah ha-Nasi and ff. derived Oral Torah (which is a claim at times to replace Scriptures) informs those who follow it over the Scriptures that any king who exalts Himself above the Sanhedrin, even YHVeH Himself of Psalm 10:16, is to them a robber. Which leads us, who are enlightened through Yeshua, to the parable of Matthew 21:33-41.]
